Formatting Tips

• Bottom-center is the safe default for most documents.
• "X of Y" (e.g., 3 of 20) helps readers know how much is left and spot missing pages.
• Skip the cover: start numbering from page 2 by setting the start number, or number from 1 on the first content page.
• Mind the margins: make sure numbers don't overlap existing footers — bottom-center usually avoids this.

Do This as the Last Step
